Enlit Europe 2025 | Bilbao, Spain
At this year’s Enlit Europe energy summit in Bilbao, a landmark gathering for Europe’s energy and industrial ecosystem, Lidia Avilés, Founder & CEO of AELSTONE®, moderated the high-level panel “Securing Europe’s Industrial Competitiveness – an Energy Perspective.”
The session delivered far beyond expectations, bringing together leading voices from across industry, policy, technology, and finance. Each participant contributed depth, clarity, and strategic insight, creating a conversation that stood out for its openness, intellectual rigour, and alignment around Europe’s long-term competitiveness and energy resilience.
The discussion underscored a central message: “Europe’s industrial future will be defined by its ability to strengthen energy systems, accelerate innovation, and cultivate collaboration across sectors.” ENLIT LINK

Participants highlighted that competitiveness cannot be safeguarded through isolated efforts—only through integrated action spanning energy, technology, investment, and industrial strategy.
Beyond the panel itself, one of the most significant aspects of Enlit Europe this year was the reconnection with the individuals who continue to shape the European energy landscape with vision, courage, and generosity. Seeing familiar leaders, innovators, policymakers, and long-standing collaborators reaffirmed the human foundation of this ecosystem.
Lidia extended appreciation to the Enlit Europe organizing team — including Paddy Young, Areti Ntaradimou, Nigel Blackaby, and industry collaboratos Doron Brenmiller, Stavros Stamatoukos, and many others — whose dedication enables the community to convene, exchange, and advance shared progress year after year.
AELSTONE® emphasises a core belief:
“Collaboration across sectors isn’t just valuable — it is the only way to meaningfully address the challenges ahead.” Lidia said.
Throughout the event, conversations reinforced that when industry, policy, research, finance, and technology come together with genuine intention, the resulting impact is far greater than any one stakeholder could achieve alone.
What resonated most strongly was the human dimension: the trust, openness, and intellectual generosity that define the Enlit Europe community. These relationships are what keep momentum alive and make Europe’s complex transitions not only possible, but energising and inspiring.
As the summit concluded, it was clear that collective leadership and cross-sector collaboration remain the driving forces behind Europe’s capacity for innovation, resilience, and structural change.
